These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the MQTT Connect mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. License
Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business purposes. This license does not permit you to reverse-engineer, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App except as permitted by the platform (App Store / Google Play) terms under which you obtained it.
2. Your responsibilities
The App is a client for connecting to MQTT brokers that you configure. You are solely responsible for:
- the brokers, hosts, and networks you choose to connect to, and any consequences of doing so;
- the accuracy, legality, and security of any credentials, certificates, or private keys you enter or import;
- the content of any messages you publish, and compliance with any rules governing the topics and brokers you use;
- keeping your device, its lock screen, and any biometric or passphrase protections secure, since credentials are stored locally on that device; and
- complying with all applicable laws and any agreements you have with the operators of the brokers or networks you connect to.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App to:
- access, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any broker, network, or system you do not have permission to use;
- transmit unlawful, infringing, or malicious payloads; or
- interfere with the App's security features, or use the App in a way that violates the terms of the platform (Apple App Store or Google Play) through which it was distributed.
4. Third-party brokers & networks
MQTT Connect does not operate, host, or control any MQTT broker. Any broker you connect to — whether a public service, employer infrastructure, or a broker you run yourself — is a third party outside our control. We are not responsible for the availability, security, or conduct of any broker, or for any data exchanged with it.
5. Intellectual property
The App, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by the developer of MQTT Connect and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the App to you.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will successfully connect to, or correctly exchange data with, any given broker.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of MQTT Connect will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, credentials, revenue, or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the App, or from any broker or third-party service you connect to through it — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes, without limitation, consequences of connecting to brokers over insecure transports, misconfigured credentials, or lost certificates.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer of MQTT Connect from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party, including any broker operator or network you connect to.
9. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it; the "Erase all data" setting removes all locally stored data before you do. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App, in whole or in part, at any time.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when the updated Terms are published on this page; the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
